Inspection requests are taken via email at bldinspectrequest@fairfield.ca.gov. Requests received prior to 3:00PM Monday - Friday will be scheduled for the following business day unless otherwise specified.
When requesting an inspection, please have the following information in the email:
1. Building permit number
2. Site address
3. Type of inspection
4. Your name and phone number
5. Date and AM or PM preference
You may request a preference of an AM or PM inspection for Monday - Friday. However, it is not always guaranteed based on workload and staffing. Please note that AM inspections are conducted between 8:00AM – 12:00PM and PM inspections between12:00PM to 4:00PM.
Please note that you will not receive a confirmation for your scheduled inspection but you will receive an auto-reply email.
City offices are closed every 1st and 3rd Friday. Inspections are still available on these days.
City Staff reserves the right to reschedule inspections to the following work day subject to staff
availability. You will be notified if your inspection is rescheduled.
Approved plans and inspection card shall be made available at time of inspection. Failure to provide
required documentation may result in a re-inspection fee.

IF YOUR PROJECT REQUIRES INSPECTIONS FROM ANY OTHER DEPARTMENT OR OUTSIDE
AGENCY, YOU MUST FIRST OBTAIN THOSE INSPECTIONS BEFORE YOU CAN REQUEST A
FINAL BUILDING INSPECTION.
