Director of Parks & Recreation
The Director of Parks & Recreation plans, organizes, directs and reviews the activities and operations of the Parks & Recreation department by providing quality programs, services and facilities to meet the communities social, recreational, cultural, and educational; to coordinate assigned activities with other departments and outside agencies; and to provide highly responsible and complex administrative support to the City Manager.
Kristina Kaunzinger joined the City of Fairfield on December 21, 2020. Prior to joining Fairfield, she served as assistant director of Parks, After School, Recreation, and Community Services for the City of Fresno for four years. Previously, she served the City of Sanger for over three years as assistant to the city manager and acting Community Development director; and served the City of Dinuba for nearly twenty years, the last ten of which as director of Parks & Community Services.
She has worked as a consultant with focus on organizational and individual professional development and holds certification as an MBTI practitioner, the Size Types of Working Genius, and 5 Languages of Appreciation in the Work Place Facilitator.
