A known suspect is when you or someone else knows the person or where to find the person who committed the crime. Having suspect information may also including knowing the license plate number of the vehicle the suspect(s) were in. If the suspect is known, the report should be made through the Police Department Dispatch Center at 707-428-7300.

Include with your request a $5 deposit, your name, the case number, your involvement or the involvement of the person you are representing, your address, and a daytime phone number.

GC6254 states we have 10 days from the date of request to supply a subject with a copy of a police report. The 10 days begin when we get their request and deposit.

Copies of police reports are $5 per 10 pages, per report. Pages 11-20 cost $11. We require a $5 deposit on all requests.

If your vehicle was towed because it was abandoned or the driver was arrested the current fee is $147. If your vehicle was towed because the driver was intoxicated the vehicle release fee is $272. If the vehicle was towed because the driver was unlicensed or had their driving privileges suspended or revoked, the fee is $272.

• You may come to the police department lobby at 1000 Webster Street, Monday through Thursday, and every 2nd, 4th, 5th Friday of the month between 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Vehicles are only released to the registered owner on file according to the California Department of Motor Vehicles. You will need a valid California Driver's license, the vehicle registration information, and any applicable fees to obtain the vehicle release.
• If you do not have a valid driver's license, you must bring a government-issued photo identification and a valid driver.

If your vehicle is on a 30-day hold and you wish to schedule a release hearing, you may come to the Police Department Lobby and complete a Hearing Impound Form, which will be reviewed by a hearing officer.
