Hate Crimes: Reporting

Assembly Bill (AB) 485; Hate Crimes Reporting requires agencies to post hate crime data monthly, starting January 1, 2023. The Hate Crimes Dashboard below depicts information reported to the department involving hate crimes occurring within the city limits. Hate crime is defined by existing law as a criminal act committed, in whole or in part, because of actual or perceived characteristics of the victim, including, among other things, race, religion, disability, and sexual orientation.

Viewers of this dashboard can learn where and when hate crimes occur (in Fairfield, CA), which demographic groups are involved and/or targeted, and the types of crimes being committed, whether against persons or property.
