Opened the ARC Computer Center
Council Goal: Quality of Life - Services
The Computer Center provides drop-in opportunities for adults, aged 50 and up, to use technology as needed for internet research, accessing basic services, resource identification, and social communication. The grand opening featured the Friends of the Fairfield Senior Center who were instrumental in funding and launching the Computer Center.
In the future, the Center will offer classes and seminars on rudimentary computer skills, introductions to the
internet and safe practices, Microsoft applications, and more!
Added Signature Events
Council Goal: Quality of Life - Events
In addition to our annual parades, Tomato & Vine Festival, Christmas Tree and Menorah Lighting, Parks & Recreation worked with multiple departments to add new signature events including: the first annual Blues, Brews & BBQ Cook-off, Juneteenth, the Summer Music Series, and Small Business Saturday. All of these events are designed to acknowledge diversity,
encourage community, and boost our local economy.
Continued Offering Quality Programs
Council Goal: Organizational Excellence
Despite staffing shortages currently facing all industries, the Parks & Recreation department is proud to continuously offer quality core programming with a variety of enrichment classes. We remain excited and look forward to fully reinstating our services, programming, and activities and introducing new and exciting opportunities to our community.
