Received Entitlement and Financing for Parkside Flats

Council Goal: Housing

Parkside Flats Project

Housing Services and Community Development worked with the Affordable Housing Alliance to complete the entitlement and financing plan for the development of Parkside Flats. The 168-unit development will target low and very low-income households and include the following amenities: a clubhouse with leasing space, community room, computer center, mail/package room, fitness center, pool, open courtyards, park-like landscaping, BBQ/picnic area, and ample on-site parking.

The City secured $600,000 of ARPA Funds from Solano County, pledged $400,000 of its sales proceeds, and completed the TEFRA (for bond financing of up to $70,000,000) to finance the costs of this project. Construction began in February 2023.

Held successful Touch up the Town Event

Council Goal: Quality of Life - Programs, Services and Events

Touch Up the Town cleanup event

Housing Services held their second annual “Touch Up the Town” event on Friday, October 7, 2022, on East Tabor Ave between Dover Ave and North Texas. The event consisted of a clean-up and free garbage dump day for neighborhood residents. Republic Services sponsored the free dump day and Bethel Community Church hosted the event kick-off breakfast and afternoon lunch. Local businesses also sponsored meals. The 25 volunteers, which included city staff, were briefed, given supplies, snacks, and a Touch Up the Town T-shirt, and organized into teams.

In addition, Public Works replaced lighting at the Linear Park Trail and fixed potholes. The Public Works HEART team also staffed the dumpster and collected trash bags at the end of the event.
